How it happened
Our Story
Kimberly & Ian
It started with a swipe. Kimberly and Ian were fortunate to stumble across each other on Bumble, and a few messages later they made plans to meet.
On March 21, 2024, they met at Poor Hendrix for what was supposed to be a drink. The conversation was so good that the night ran much later than either of them planned.
Their second date was epic: one long day that melted into night. It took them through Grant Park Porch Fest, Halfway Crooks Brewery, dinner at Talat Market, and a fire pit at Kimberly's place. On the third date, Ian told Kimberly he wasn't going to date anyone else so he could focus on her. What followed was a very successful wooing. That was that.
Their first trip together was to Punta Cana, and it's where they realized they love traveling together. Since then, they've explored Holbox, Dublin, and Amsterdam, and made their way back to the Dominican Republic. Check out the Gallery tab to see a few of their favorite moments.
But they love sharing their everyday lives just as much. They love to cook and eat together, and a good board game night is a favorite, though Ian wins about 95% of the time. Their pups, Mingus and Olive, are very much part of the household too. Live theater and live music are high on the list, and so is their city. Atlanta is home, which is why they chose to get married here. Visit the Things to Do page for some of their favorite neighborhoods.
Just as important, Kimberly and Ian love each other's families and feel grateful to be joining them. They are thankful for Ian's parents, John and Sharry, and Kimberly's parents, Jim and Diane, as well as their siblings, their nieces and nephews, and the many aunts, uncles, and cousins who make both families so special. They are so excited for everyone to come together.
They chose the vernal equinox for their wedding because they met right at the start of spring, and it felt right to begin their forever on the first day of the season. They can't wait to celebrate with the people who mean the most to them. Join Kimberly and Ian as they say “I do”!
