Getting Around Town

Ubers are plentiful in Atlanta, including the Waymo option. We love a Waymo! To ride one, opt in under Ride Preferences in your Uber app. Waymos can’t pick up at the airport, so plan to take a regular Uber from there.

Midtown (about a 10-minute Uber)

Begin at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and stroll through Piedmont Park. For lunch, it’s a short walk to Colony Square, where Saints + Council and Rumi’s Kitchen are both excellent. If time allows, the High Museum of Art is also a short walk away.

Poncey-Highlands (about a 10-minute Uber)

Start on the roof of Ponce City Market. Make a reservation at 9 Mile Station and roof access is included. Otherwise, admission starts at about $8 per person. Once you’re up there, play Skee-Ball, mini golf, and other carnival games with the whole city as your backdrop. Then wander the BeltLine in either direction for great people-watching, shopping, and dining.

Grant Park (about a 10–15-minute Uber)

Visit Zoo Atlanta, walk around Grant Park, and stroll through Oakland Cemetery. Then grab a casual seafood lunch on the roof at Six Feet Under, which overlooks the cemetery.

Downtown (Near the Venue) (walkable; South Downtown is about a 5-minute Uber)

The Georgia Aquarium and the College Football Hall of Fame are within walking distance of the venue and our recommended hotels. A short Uber ride away, South Downtown has outposts of some local favorites near Broad and Mitchell streets. El Tesoro (Mexican) and Glide Pizza are both excellent. There’s also a food hall, CTR Food Works, at The CTR (the former CNN Center).
